MOM'S SPAGHETTI SAUCE

Ingredients:
1 lb. Hamburger or Turkey Meat
1/3 C. Onion chopped
2 Whole Garlic Gloves, diced
1 Big Can Tomatoes (28 oz.)
1 15 oz. Can Tomato Sauce
1/4 C. Parsley
1/2 tsp. Oregano
1/4 tsp. Thyme
1 Bay Leaf
1 C. Water
1 6 oz. jar of Mushrooms or 1 Cup
Salt to taste

Directions:
First, brown your meat with onion, garlic and touch of salt. Drain excess fat. In a big pot over medium to high heat pour in the meat mixture along with remaining ingredients. Stir together and bring to boil. Once a consistent boil turn down the heat to low-medium to simmer. Simmer the sauce for 1 hour. The sauce should not be runny and will thicken up. You can also cook this the night before serving and let rest in the refrigerator and then just reheat on top of stove before serving. This gives the spices time to do their magic! Enjoy...the Meals in a Rush way. Also below, tips to cooking pasta.

PASTA COOKING TIPS:

1. Make sure your pot is big enough. Rule of thumb 1 1/2 quart of water for every 3-4 oz. of dry pasta. If the pasta doesn't have enough room to cook it becomes sticky.

2. Do not use oil when cooking pasta. Oil will actually prevent the sauce from sticking to the noodle.

3. SALT is the magic ingredient. Add salt to the boiling water before adding the pasta. Use 1 tsp. of salt per quart. Only add pasta to the water when it's boiling.

4. Once your pasta is in the pot be sure to stir as it cooks.
