RADIO-TUNA FISH SANDWICH. Why is it called that?

A tuna fish sandwich (or a tuna salad sandwich) on toast is called a "radio" in diner slang. "Tuna" was taken for "tune it," and "tuna down" the radio! The slang seems to have existed in the 1950's, but faded away by the late 1960's.

RADIO-TUNA FISH SANDWICH

Ingredients:
1 Large Can Tuna Fish (Drained)
Mustard
Olive Oil
Pepper
Onion
Celery
Lemon (Squeeze the fresh juice out to use)
Fresh Parsley (Diced)
1 Box Frozen Spinach (Thawed and Drained to get all the water out. Put in strainer and press spinach against to wring out water; only use 1/2 the box of thawed spinach)
1 Jar Artichoke Hearts (Cut up about the 1/2 the jar)
Garlic (Diced)
Pickles or Fresh Dill (Diced)
Tomato (Sliced to put on top)
Bread

Directions:
In a large bowl, combine everything and mix to your liking. Add as much or as less of anything listed - or add your own ingredients! It's all up to your tastebuds. Enjoy...the Meals in a Rush way.
