Sweet 'n' Spicy Snapshots
Look at me go! I’m frosting my own birthday cake on the farm with my grandmother watching closely. This is for my 2nd birthday. I can still remember my very first recipe that my mother kept for me. It’s delicious Edible Play Dough. It’s a fun one for the kids.
Here’s a look at part of the farm I grew up on in Thermopolis, WY along Owl Creek. This picture was taken on my first day of Kindergarten. Behind me is where my family had the big hay field.
This is Porky the Pig. Original name, huh? He was a family pet. He enjoyed our yard much more than his pig pen. Porky would let you pet him just like a dog and would hang out with anyone who would give him attention!
I really loved all of my animals on the farm. I grew up with horses, cows, chickens, ducks, geese, cats and dogs. Here is my rabbit and special dog, Fluffy that would pal around with me. In fact, it’s not the rabbit shown in this picture here but, I had another one who thought he was a chicken! He literally lived with the chickens in the hen house, ate with them and everything.
This is Smokey, one of my very special cats. I found Smokey inside an old-fashioned stove that I used on the farm as my cooktop in my make-believe restaurants.
Here I am during one of my community service events with my husband and Founder of CulturePrep, Peter Vogel.
Together we fundraise at different events to support a school feeding program in Uganda, East Africa.
